Ruth Schrum

December 31, 1969 — May 23, 2023

Ruth Pasour Schrum left her earthly home to be with her Savior on May 23rd, 2023 while
surrounded by her family. Ruth was born in Gaston County on July 18th 1931 to the late Walter
and Audrey Pasour. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Carroll Schrum, brothers
Clyde Pasour, Paul Pasour and also by her sister Joan Helms.

Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Those left behind to
cherish her memory are her children Ron Schrum of Lincolnton, Don Schrum and wife Vickie of
Lincolnton, David Schrum and wife Julie of Vale, Cheryl Schrum Rader and husband Bryan of
Lincolnton, and Susan Sain and husband Robert of Vale. Ruth is also survived by four grand
daughters, Jennifer Bollinger of Vale, Amber Cain and husband Sam of Vale, Lindsey Karres and
husband Cole of Lincolnton, Ashley Schrum and finance’ Dakota Putnam of Charlotte, great
grandchildren Leia Oglesby of Vale and Alexander (AJ) Karres of Lincolnton, sister Louise Grigg of
Bessemer City, sister-in-law Connie Shrum of Washington State and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Daniels Lutheran Church,
3170 Reepsville Rd. Lincolnton on Friday, May 26th from 6 PM to 7:30 PM, and also on Saturday,
May 27th from 1:30 PM to 2:50 PM in the George Rhyne Fellowship Building of Antioch Lutheran
Church - 330 Old Loop Rd. Dallas, NC. A memorial service will follow this visitation in the church
sanctuary of Antioch at 3:00 PM with The Rev. Andrew Weisner presiding.

Ruth was a homemaker, farmer’s wife and a caregiver of her grandchildren as well as her great
grandchildren. She was well-loved throughout the community visiting homebound friends and
family. She was an active church member and participated in the women’s church group. Ruth
loved to help her husband Carroll in his woodworking shop, making ceramics, sewing, cooking,
and growing flowers. She enjoyed attending family reunions and researching genealogy of her
ancestors.

Jenkins Funeral Home is not involved in the memorial service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Antioch Lutheran Church -330 Old Loop Rd. Dallas
NC 28034, Daniels Lutheran Church 3170 Reepsville Rd, Lincolnton, NC 28092 and Via Health
Partners (formerly known as Lincoln County Hospice) 900 Donita Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092


The family is very grateful and appreciates the dedicated care provided to Ruth and her family
during her extended illness by – The Greens At Lincolnton, by Via Health Partners (formerly
