Samuel Ross

Samuel Eugene Ross Jr., 74, of Conover passed away Wednesday, April 26th, 2023, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born, January 17th, 1949, he was the son of the late Samuel Eugene Ross Sr. and Belinda Delores Ross. He loved spending his time watching his children and grandchildren play sports. Some of his favorite moments were sharing time with his family. He was an avid lover of the Kentucky Derby and the New York Yankees. He graduated from East Palestine High School in 1967 and attended Glendale Community College in AZ before returning to Ohio and completing his degree in Business Administration at Youngstown State University. He utilized his degree for the rest of his working years.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Betty Ann Ross of Conover; four daughters, Amy Garcia (John) of Claremont, Sylvia White of Newton, Jennifer Canrobert of Newton, and Jesse Ross of Conover; a son, Heath Johnston (Christi) of Mountain View; seven grandchildren, Chalsey (Justin), Ellie, Ross (Malea), Luke, Matt, Liam, and Gage; a great grandson, Brooks; an expectant great grand-daughter, baby Earl; four brothers, Mick Ross of AZ, Ron Ross (Hazel) of OH, Ralph Ross of FL, Scott Ross (Mary) of AZ; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Samuel Eugene Ross Sr. and Belinda Delores Ross he is preceded in death by a brother, Bob Ross; two sister in laws, Mary Marg and Mary Catherine.

The visitation will be from 1-2:30PM, Saturday May 6th, 2023, at Jenkins Funeral Home, located at 4081 Startown Road, Newton, NC 28658.

The celebration of life will be 2:30-3PM May 6th, 2023, at Jenkins Funeral Home.
