Sandra Shrum

March 29, 1949 — May 11, 2017

Sandra Kay Sigmon Shrum 68 of Conover died Thursday, May 11th, 2017 at the residence of her daughter. Born March 29th, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Roy William Sigmon and Ruby Cook Sigmon. A devout Christian, she was known for being patient and graceful in all situations. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Her biggest passions were spending time and traveling with her daughters, reading and pet-sitting her grand dogs Magnolia, Gracie and Kaitlyn of Catawba and her grand cats Elly and Tortellini of Cary, NC. She appreciated everything in nature and loved to take photos of everything from the tallest tree to the smallest wildflowers. Two daughters, Jennifer Ly and husband Randy of Catawba and Megan Kay Shrum and husband David Meyer of Cary, NC; the children's father, Jerry Shrum and wife Ann of Lincolnton; a Brother, Roy Steve Sigmon and Thelma Shoup of Hickory; a grandson, Dexter Ly and her best friend Sybil Hughey and husband Johnny survive her. The Celebration of Sandy's life will be 4:00pm Friday, May 19th, 2017 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with The Rev. Dr. Ed Yount officiating. Burial will be private at Jenkins Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the ceremony at the funeral home.   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658 or the Baptist Children's Homes of NC 204 Idol Street, Thomasville, NC 27360.   Please sign the online guestbook at www.jenkinsfuneralhome.net.
