Sarah Kiser

March 18, 1968 — December 7, 2018

Sarah Elizabeth Kiser Lawson was born on March 18, 1968 in Ft. Wayne, IN. She peacefully passed away surrounded by family and friends at Frye Regional Medical Center on December 7, 2018 from multisystem organ failure triggered by advanced cirrhosis of the liver. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Ward and Judy Baker Kiser and her first husband Harry T. Parrish. She is survived by her son Matthew Joseph Parrish and her second husband Daniel “Boone” Lawson and his family.

Also mourning her death are her brother Paul J. Kiser along with his wife Jennifer Bradley Kiser and daughters Kaitlyn Mary and Kayleigh Noelle.

Sarah earned her BSN and RN at Lenoir Rhyne University and faithfully served the Hickory community working for 25 years as a public health nurse at the Catawba County Health Department. Ever-protective of her family and friends she had a joy for life and loved to find laughter in the most challenging situations.
She was loved dearly by those who knew her well and will be tremendously missed by many, many more.

A memorial celebration of her life will be held on December 29th at Jenkins Funeral Home, 4081 Startown Rd., Newton, NC 28658. Receiving by the family will begin at 10:00 AM and a memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM, officiated by The Rev. Dennis H. Bennett.
