Scott Whisnant

Scott Wayne Whisnant, 59, of Connelly Springs died Monday, February 5, 2024 at Hospice Of Rutherford County. Born July 15th, 1964 in Hickory, North Carolina. Scott was a correctional officer at Foothills Correctional in Morganton. He was a fun loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed football, fishing and racing.

Scott is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ruby Whisnant; two stepsons, Sean Little and his wife Allison and John Little; grandchildren, Trevor Little and Dylan Little; mother, Shirley Whisnant Black and her husband Jim; two sisters, Beverly Brittain and husband Kevin and Kimberly Whisnant; niece, Jennifer Brittain Brown and her husband David Brown and their daughter Madison Williams; nephew, Joshua Brittain and wife Tina and their children Beckett Brittain and Brody Brittain; niece, Brittany Whisnant and her children Abegayle Whisnant and Wyatt Whisnant; and multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by father, Ernest Wayne Whisnant and grandparents, Weaver and Lillian Jolly.

The funeral will be 3:00pm, Saturday, February 10, 2023 Mount Hebron Baptist Church, 4805 Miller Bridge Rd, Connelly Springs, NC 28612. Burial will follow at Mount Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, prior to the service.
