Shauna Marie Crawford, 23, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022. Born May 6th, 1998 in Wilmington, NC to Kathryn Ramsey and Casey Crawford.
Shauna was a 2017 graduate from Hickory High School where she was a cheerleader her freshman and sophomore years. Shauna also made many friends at the Olde Hickory Brewery where she worked during her junior and senior years. Shauna was best known for her sweet spirit, kindness to others, and was a friend to many who knew her. She had a profound love of music and her playlists were epic. She was a carefree and loving person who lived in the moment and wasn’t afraid to be herself. Shauna had a great sense of humor - always laughing, smiling, and making you do the same. Her love and kindness were infectious making it hard to believe she was dealing with her own internal battles. Her demons ultimately took her away from us, but Shauna would want something positive to come from her passing. She didn’t shy away from telling her story of addiction and how she was trying and working hard to live a sober life. Shauna would want something positive to come from her passing by hopefully changing or saving someone else’s life that is struggling like she was struggling. That loving soul was who she was, who we love, and who we all will dearly miss.
Shauna is survived by her mother, Kathryn Ramsey, of Asheville and her father, Casey Crawford, of Wilmington; her grandparents, Mike and Vicky Ramsey, of Newton and her grandmother, Mary Allen of Wilmington; her aunt, Julie (Brian) Martin; cousins, Eliza and Liam of Asheville; her uncle, Philip Ramsey of Burlington; cousins Kennedy and Lincoln; her uncle, Shane (Rainey) Crawford of Fernandina Beach, FL; cousins, Ruby June and Ryder as well as her great grandparents Bill and Juanita Ramsey of Old Fort. Special family and friends included Nick Rosthal of Charlotte, Ramzi Ateyeh of Asheville, Kirstie Doehler of Elon and Cheryl and Brandon Hamby of Conover.
A receiving of friends and extended family will be held in the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 2-3 pm with the memorial service to immediately follow at 3.
