Shelby Thomas

Shelby Jean Thomas, 78, of Hickory passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born, March 20th, 1944 she was the daughter of the late Theo John Pendley and Ella May Pendley.

She is survived by three daughters Rita Thomas of Newton, Betty Moore of Newton, and Patricia Beam (Carl) of Hickory; six grandchildren, Johnny Moore, Timothy Linder (Danielle), Jessica Brown (Brandon), Kevin Linder, Grace Lail (Dexter), and April Rosenbalm (Kenneth); a step granddaughter Lillie Beam; seven great grandchildren, Cora, Maverick, Angelrose, Leo, Faith, Casey, and Cameron; three brothers, Benny Pendly of Morganton, Johnny Pendly of Sprucepine, and David Pendly of Sprucepine; two sisters, Sue Thomas and Mabel Pendly both of Sprucepine; and a special friend Garland "Shorty" Linder.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas; a great grandchild, Justin Sellers; four brothers, Jesse Pendly, Buster Pendly, Paul Pendly, and Jay Pendly; and a sister Beulah Pendly.

The visitation will be 1PM, Friday, February 3, 2023 at Jenkins Funeral Home, followed by a service at 2PM with Pastor Charlie Holler officiating. A burial will be afterwards at Jenkins Funeral Homes cemetery.
