Shepel Hunter

Shepel Monet Hunter 43, of Conover died Saturday, March 11th, 2017 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born  September 1st, 1973 she was the daughter of Janice Lynn Hunter. Shepel attended Hickory High, and took nine years of Ballet from Ann Freeman Dance Academy. She loved music, and was a huge UNC Tar Heel fan.   In addition to her mother; a daughter Paige McCorkle and husband Alfred of Hickory;a grand daughter Peyton McCorkle of Hickory; two aunts Barbara Shuford of Hickory, Dianne Duke of Charlotte; two uncles Wayne Hunter and wife Nancy of Hickory, Dennis Hunter of Hickory; a number of cousins and a very special caring cousin and god mother Geraldine Davis of Hickory survive her.  Her maternal grandmother Rita Hunt; her maternal grandfather Luther Hunter; and her aunt Kay Williams preceded her in death.
The funeral will be 2:30pm Sunday, March 19th, 2017 at St Paul AME Zion Church with Pastor I.M Peay officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
