Shirley Mae Byers 72 of Hickory passed away Saturday, April 27th, 2019 at Carolina Caring. Born March 3rd, 1947 she was the daughter of the late Virgil Cecil Kiser and Florence Eckard Kiser. She enjoyed reading the Bible, cooking, shopping and computer games.
Her husband, Cecil R. Byers; a son, Johnny Lamar Weaver of Hickory; a step son, David Laastad and wife Sherri of Hickory; two sisters, Betty Taylor of Vale and Janie Clontz of Crouse and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren survive her.
Three brothers, Ben Lail, Virgil Cecil Kiser, Jr. and Charles Lail preceded her in death.
The funeral will be 3:00 pm Wednesday May 1, 2019 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Rowland officiating. Burial will follow at Jenkins Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm Wednesday May 1, 2019 at the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home.
