Shirley Davis

Shirley Temple Davis, 81, of Conover died Monday, February 5th, 2018 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born January 10th, 1937 she was the daughter of the late David Webster Temple and Mamie Satterfield Temple. She was a graduate of Bessemer High School and attended Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk. Shirley previously served as a volunteer at Catawba Valley Medical Center for many years, at the Corner Table in Newton, and currently served at the Red Cross Blood Drive at Woodlawn Baptist Church where she also attended and taught Sunday School.

A son, Dr. Richard "Rick" Davis, Jr. and wife Melia of Conover and a daughter, Dr. Scarlet Davis of Conover; grandchildren, Brian Davis and wife, Erin of Ithaca, NY, Dr. Nathan Davis of Durham, Justin Davis of Hickory, McKenzi Davis and Fiance Michael Hancock of Lynchburg, VA, Perry Davis of Johnson City TN, Alexis Davis of Conover and great grandchildren, Mason Davis and Leo Davis both of Ithaca, NY survive her.

In addition to her parents; her husband of 35 years Richard Kearns Davis Sr.; and a brother David Allen Temple preceded her in death.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be 1:30 PM Saturday February 10, 2018 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Andrews and the Rev. Dr. Ed Yount officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12-1:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

A Private Graveside Service will follow at Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro.
