Shirley Gosnell

Shirley Ann Gosnell, 73 of CSI Farm Road in Hickory died Monday, December 7, 2009 at her residence. Born March 13, 1936 in Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Gaither Barry & Pauline Helen Israel Banks. Shirley attended Harvest Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church and was employed by Glenn R. Frye Hospital for a short while. Her husband of 58 years; Harley Lee Gosnell, a daughter; Darla & Lazaro Chavero of Conover, three sons; Derrell Gene & Pam Gosnell of Lincolnton, Dwayne Michael & Lesa Gosnell of Newton, Darren Lee & Amy Gosnell of Lincolnton, two sisters; Idamae Pate of Kernersville, NC, Gail & George Gray of Dayton, TN, two brothers; Larry & Ann Banks of Lexington, NC, Donald Banks of Walkerton, NC, 10 grand-children & 12 great grand-children survive her. Two sisters; Wanda Edwards, Avalee Spanger, a brother; JG Banks and a grandson; Chris Herman preceded her in death. The funeral will be 12:30 pm, Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel on Startown road. Burial will follow at Brookford Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00-12:15 on Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers will be Members of Harvest Baptist Church. Memorials may be sent to: Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton NC 28658.
