Shirley Jackson

Shirley Lynn Jackson, 54 of Concord died Monday, May 2nd, 2016 at her daughter's residence in Hickory after a valiant fight with cancer. Born August 23rd, 1961 she was the daughter of the late Robert Leon Neal and Verna Lee Rudd Neal of Dallas, TX. She was an award winning artist, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her husband of 17 years, Albert William Jackson of the home; a daughter, Dana Roig and husband Adam of Hickory; a step daughter, Amelia Pluck and husband Michael of Concord, NC; a son, Phillipp Pickle and wife Nicole of Marysville, WA; a step son, Tate Jackson of Delmar, DE; a sister,Roberta Leona Johnson and husband Arthur of Euless, TX; a brother, Lloyd Lee Neal of Dallas, TX and eight grandchildren, Makenzie, Alexandra, Nicole, Joshua, Jeremiah, Nathaniel, Auraeve, and Richard, Jr., and many friends and her service dog, T-bone survive her. The funeral will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, May 10th, 2016 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Stephen R. Disher officiating. Burial will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC. The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
