Stacey Elaine Montelongo 54 of Newton died Thursday, January 23, 2020 at her home. Born, May 24th, 1965 she was the daughter of Elaine Little Sweezy and the late (Bill) Homer Dilworth Sweezy.
In addition to her mother, her husband of 18 years Frank Montelongo of the home; three daughters Vandie Worley and partner Allison (Peanut) of Maiden, Jessie Montelongo and partner Karson of Gettysburg, PA, Missy Fetter and husband Brett of Germany; a son Jay (Bubby) Tanner and wife Diana of Sevierville, TN; a brother William 'Tiger' Sweezy and wife Jana of Claremont; mother in law Carol Montelongo of Drexel; grandchildren Nevaeh Fairburn "George", Breeann Worley "Fred", Ethan Coleman, Trey Fetter, Jenna Fetter, and Kale Fetter; and her beloved fur baby Holly survive her in death.
To her family she will be remembered as a loving, supportive, one-of-a-kind, wife, mother, daughter and grandmother. She never labeled her children or grandchildren as biological or stepchildren, she loved and treated them all the same. She was known as the glue to the family and made sure everyone was included. She was always up for an adventure and loved to travel.
She was known as a vibrant crafter and thrift store shopper. She never met a stranger and always pushed others to be their best self. She had a passion for education holding multiple degrees in multiple disciplines including Emergency Medicine and Funeral Sciences. She served the counties of Catawba, Lincoln, and Iredell as a paramedic for 28 years. She was a Level II Paramedic Instructor and taught many students over the years throughout North Carolina and surrounding states.
She was an unstoppable force and impacted many peoples lives in life and death.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 pm-8:30 pm Friday, January 31st, 2020 at Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home.
