Susan Garvin

Mrs. Susan Morris Garvin, 62, of 1552 Little Hill Rd, Newton, NC, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at Catawba Valley Hospice.  A native of Lumberton, NC, Susan was a daughter of the late Peggy Fisher Morris and the late Benjamin F. Morris of Lumberton. She was a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and obtained her Degree in Pharmacy.  Susan was also a member of Fellowship United Methodist Church.  A retired pharmacist who brought love and laughter, and joy to the lives of those people lucky enough to be around her, Susan was a wonderful sister, mother and wife.  She will be truly missed.

Mrs. Garvin is survived by her husband, Stephen Edward Garvin, of the home; a daughter, Laura Abigail Garvin of Orange City, CA; her brother, Benjamin F. Morris II, of Washington, NC; her brothers-in-law Larry W. Sanderson of York, SC, and Richard Gary Garvin of Portland, OR, four nieces and three nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11:00 am at Friendship United Methodist Church in Newton with Rev. David Hamlyn officiating.  The family will receive visitors at the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Catawba County Animal Control, 201 Government Services Drive, Newton, NC 28658 or to Eastern Catawba Cooperative Christian Ministry, Inc, 245 E.
