Susie Starr

Susie Belle Starr 87 of Newton died Friday, February 24th, 2017 at Abernethy Laurels. Born  June 29th, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Matthew Bowman and Minnie Sigmon Bowman. She was also preceded in death by her husband William Hester Starr; stepdaughter Christine Clayton; sisters, Mary Keller and Sarah Starnes. Susie was a homemaker.
Survived by, son, Gene Starr and wife Linda of Startown, NC; stepdaughter, Rachel Watts of Las Vega, NV; grandchildren,  Elaine Lutz and husband Jamie of Newton, NC, Matthew Starr of Startown, NC; great-grandchildren, Jessica and Patrick Lutz of Newton.  The funeral will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 28th, 2017 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Byron Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Jenkins Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am Tuesday, February 28th, 2017 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel.
