Sylvia Gail "Dib" Houser, 65 of Sherrills Ford died Thursday, August 21st, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born July 2nd, 1949, she was the daughter of Hugh Houser and Pearl Robinson Houser. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her husband of 27 years, Robert Chester Chambers of the home: two daughters, Lorrie Barnes and husband Michael Boyd of Hickory and Julie Huntley and husband Howard Huntley, Jr. of Minooka, IL; a sister, Mary Beaverson of Conover; a sister in law, Eileen Houser of Hershey, PA; a brother, Gene Houser and wife Carolyn of Hickory; two brother in laws, Robert Ward of Hickory and Larry Gales of Newton; a grand-son, Luke Huntley of Minooka, IL; a step granddaughter, Katie Fritz and husband Michael Fritz of South Port, NC; and great grand-daughter, Olivia Grace of South Port, NC survive her. Three sisters, Margaret Faye Ward, Linda Kaye Gales and Glenda Sue Houser; a brother, Jack Houser and brother in law, Gerry Beaverson, preceded her in death. A Celebration of Dib's life will be 6:00 p.m., Monday, August 25th, 2014 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bert Dixon officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the ceremony at the funeral home.
