Tamara Jakobs

December 16, 1969 — May 9, 2021

Tamara Elizabeth Miller Jakobs of Mountain View, Hickory, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, May 9, at her home with her family beside her. She is a Child of God, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, and friend to many and she was loved beyond measure by her family and we are so heartbroken that she has left us for now.

She was born in Statesville on December 16, 1969, to Richard and Louise Bennett Miller. Preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents, Dwight and Elnora Bennett and paternal grandparents, Shelton and Doris Miller all of Statesville. Also preceding her were her father-in-law, Franz Josef Jakobs and brother-in-law, Hans Dieter Jakobs of Germany.

Surviving include her husband, TJ (Thorsten) Jakobs, whom she loved and adored and married on April 22, 2000. Her children Josef (Joey) Jakobs and Kelly Elizabeth Jakobs, who were the light of her life. Also, her parents, Richard and Louise Miller, who live with Tamara and TJ, and her brother, Shelton Miller of Hickory. Also surviving in Germany are mother-in-law, Hilde Jakobs, sister-in-law, Claudia Stroud and husband Bill, niece Christina Heidger and children, Vicky and Sam.

She graduated from University of North Carolina at Charlotte and also Lenoir-Rhyne University. She was a teacher at Startown Elementary School and she loved all her students and they loved her. She was a Christian from a very early age and she always loved the Lord. Most on this earth she loved all her family and friends and we are at peace knowing she is not suffering any more and we will join her one day soon.

She especially loved all her fur babies, Lucy, Cookie, Sweetie Pie, Casper, and Amber, Angel, and Honey. They brought her a lot of joy and comfort.

Because of her great love for animals, memorials may be made for Tamara to ASPCA at secure.aspca.org/donate/memorial
