Thelma Darlene Pierce, 62, of Claremont NC, passed away on November 8, 2016. She was a former resident of Jamestown NY and most recently made her home in Claremont, NC with her brother, Richard Wetsel along with her dog and faithful companion Eli. She was born February 27, 1954 in Jamestown NY, the daughter of the late Fred and Thelma Wetsel. She graduated from Falconer Central School in 1972. Darlene was employed by Jamestown General Hospital, The Resource Center, Manor Oak Nursing Home and Flying W Ranch. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and family. Throughout her lifetime she had a love and passion for her dogs and horses, which she passed along to her daughters. She loved watching her grandson play football and baseball, and when her grandsons visited from out of town, would entrance them with stories about her childhood pet racoon. Darlene is survived by her daughters, Karen McNeil of Blue Spring MO and Jessice Pierce Evan of Jamestown NY; grandchildren, Nathan McNeil, Cody McNeil, Konnor McNeil and Tyler Williams, a brother, Richard Wetsel of Claremont, NC, a sister Gloria (Tim) Strickland of Falconer NY and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Thelma Wetsel and a nephew, Dennis Shane Ayers and sister in law, Sandra Wetsel. In honoring Darlene's wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Ross Mills, NY cemetery. Donations in Darlene's memory may be made to a hospice of one's choice.
