Thomas Rozzelle
October 14, 1943 — December 14, 2018
Thomas Eugene "Butchie" Rozzelle passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at Carolina Caring (Hospice) after a period of declining health.
Born October 14, 1943, in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Iverne E. and Nannie Mae Rozzelle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, infant Barbara Jean and Ethel Mae Rowell; three brothers, James Edward, William Fredrick and Melvin Sanford.
Those left to remember him include his sons; Paul Michael, with whom baseball was always their shared common bond, Paul's fiance Cayley Berry, and Randall Eugene; grandson Zekiel Maddox; niece Phyllis Fleming with whom he made his home & special 4 legged buddies- Linwood, Cole, Jada and Brutus.
Thomas was a retired 20 year veteran of the Marine Corps and worked in the food service industry after retirement.
A grateful and special thank you goes out to the neighbors in the 1500 block of 11th Street, N.W. Hickory for their many kind and caring acts. Also to the wonderful people at Hospice for the special care given to Butchie during his last days.
A private service will be held by the immediate family as per Butchie's wishes.
