On Easter Sunday 2020, Timothy Dean Settlemyre left his earthly remains and went to join his family who had preceded him in death: his father, John Clyde Settlemyre; his mother Burnell Pugh Settlemyre; and sister Sherry Ann Coffey will have welcomed him with open arms.
He leaves his partner of thirty years, Michael C. West and his two Boston Terriers, Starsky and Hutch to mourn his passing. Also left behind are his sisters, Deborah Kay Foskett and Martha Emma Jean Thames of Flint, Michigan and a brother Dennis (Sue) Settlemyre of Mt. Morris, Michigan. There are many cousins, nephews and nieces who also grieve at this loss.
Tim never met a stranger and was loved by all whose life he crossed. He was a gifted decorator, both in the home and with landscaping. His Christmas decorations were admired by all who had the opportunity to see them. He was also a fine cook and was never happier than when he was fixing a meal for his family.
There will be a memorial service at Grace Reformed United Church of Christ in Newton after the ban on gatherings is lifted.
Please sign the online guestbook at www.jenkinsfuneralhome.net. The Settlemyre family has entrusted arrangements to Jenkins Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Newton 828-464-1555.
