Tommie Lee Setzer

Tommie Lee Setzer, 82, of Newton died Sunday, March 23,2025 at Conover Nursing & Rehab Center. Born January 1st, 1943 she was the daughter of the late Jeremy and Grace Cope. Tommie worked for Southern Furniture for over 45 years. She was a devoted member of Community Chapel where she worked with the youth. She was an avid racing fan, and she loved beach trips with her family and her miniature goats and farm animals.

Her son, Dennis Setzer and wife, Darla; her sisters, Doris Cope, Audrey Deal and Shirley Grant; her grandson, Brandon Setzer and wife, Bel and her great-grandchild, Bristol Paige survive her.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Jerry Setzer; her brother, Butch Cope and her sister, Sylvia Cope preceded her in death.

The funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Jenkins Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Ernie Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. in the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home and burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
