TW Clay Jarrett Jr., born on December 14, 1947, journeyed to his eternal rest on January 26, 2025. With a heart full of love and a spirit that resonated with warmth, TW, affectionately known as "Twig" on the CB Radio, dedicated his life to the open road as a long-haul truck driver. His life was a tapestry woven with stories of adventure, laughter, and faith.
He attended Friendly Baptist Church for a number of years and he embraced his spirituality, welcoming God into his life with open arms. Whether behind the wheel of his truck or amongst his family, his infectious humor and playful nature left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. He was rarely seen without his trusty .357 magnum, a symbol of his character— protective, and fierce. One of the more colorful tales that his family fondly recall was his unforgettable encounter boxing a chimpanzee at the state fair. He lived life on his own terms. His absence will be deeply felt. We hold on to the memories of his laughter and kindness that he leaves behind.
He is survived by his son, John Wesley (Jenny); his grandchildren, Samantha Meagan (Patrick), Sarah Anna (Alex), Laura Weyrich (Scott), and Wyatt Lonnie; and his great grandchildren, Shia, Ada, Wilder, and Violet.
He is preceded in death by his parents, TW Clay Jarrett Sr. and Catherine White Jarrett.
A Graveside Service will be 2PM Tuesday, February 4th, 2025 at Friendly Freewill Baptist Church located at 2563 Old North Carolina 18 Rd, Morganton, NC 28655.
