Tyson D. Hinds 85 of Hickory died Monday, September 5th, 2016 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born February 23rd, 1931 he was the son of the late Porter Thomas Hinds and Elva Beaty Hinds.
His wife, Barbara Jean Lefevers Hinds of the home; a daughter, and Nancy Gail Steffey of Vale, NC; a son, Michael D. Hinds of Concord; a brother, Zenith Hinds of Jamestown, TN; two step sons, Richard Caldwell of Hickory and Dennis Caldwell of Hickory; two step daughters, Cathy Keener of Hickory and Gina Sturgill of Vale, NC; five grandchildren and 11 step grandchildren, five great grandchildren and 11 step great grand children survive him.
His first wife, Pauline Mullinix Hinds; five brothers, a son, Roger D. Hinds, Sr. a grandson, Roger D. Hinds, Jr., a daughter, Ramona Kaye Morgan and a step son, Robert Caldwell preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be 3:00 pm Thursday September 8th, 2016 at Mountain View Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. John Compton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 pm at the church prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
