Victora “Vicki” Gates (Hildebran) died peacefully in her sleep at Catawba Memorial Medical Center on Friday, February 16th in Hickory, NC at the age of 63. Vicki had a natural talent for working with animals, and lovingly volunteered her time as a guide dog trainer for Southeastern Guide Dogs Inc. During her time with the troop, she gained Recognition as Scout Master of the Year; the first female to gain such an accomplishment in North Carolina.
