Virgie Schubert

Virgie Ann Schubert, 87, of Newton died Monday, August 21, 2023 at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonuim, Maryland. Born November 12th, 1935 she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Hurd. Virgie was formerly a resident of Newton-Conover, NC, but at the time of her death, resided in Middle River, MD.

Her daughter, Nancy Travis (Stephen); her son, Henry Schubert (Margie Ravenscroft); her sister, Edith Mosier; her son-in-law, Ernest "Skip" Scheller; two grandchildren, Katie Scheller (Matthew Hendricks) and Henry John Schubert; and her niece, Pamela Spangler survive her.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Henry Schubert; her daughter, Frances Scheller; her sisters, Nan Hodges, Eunice Donovan, Lou Bishop, Pearl Ferguson, Jane Hamilton and Lochiel Mosier and her brother AJ Hurd preceded her in death.

The funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Jenkins Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Causby officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00- 2:00 P.M. at Jenkins Funeral Home and burial will follow at Jenkins Cemetery.
