Walter Parkhurst

Walter Webster Parkhurst, 81, of Vale, died Saturday, December 22nd, 2018 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born Tuesday, March 2nd, 1937 he was the son of Walter Webster Parkhurst Sr. and Annie Mae Parkhurst. He was the most wonderful man in the world and was loved by everyone.
His wife Nancy Parkhurst, three sons, Shane Parkhurst of Hickory, Joshua Parkhurst and wife Kelly of Hickory, and Ronald Parkhurst; two daughters, Sherri Parkhurst of Hickory and Melissa and husband Richard Bolick of Newton; three step-children, Denise Hull and husband Jeff, Wendy Hovis and husband Shean, and Shane Bowman and wife Sherri of Vale; four sisters, Alfreida Shook of Conover, Rececca Bolton and husband Wayne of Conover, Frances Watts of Hickory and Linda Hilton of Claremont; one brother, Richard Allen of Claremont, and numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren survive him.
Four brothers, Charles Parkhurst, Ted Parkhurst, Albert Parkhurst and Jack Parkhurst and one sister, Madline Mangum preceded him in death.
A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, December 30, 2018 at 3:30 pm at Bible Baptist Church 6394 Hildebran Shelby Road Hickory, NC 28602 with Rev. Ernie Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Bible Baptist Church.
