Walter Phillips

Walter Lee "Rebel" Phillips, 71, of Claremont passed away Monday, September 6, 2021 at his residence. Born October 15th, 1949 he was the son of the late Hugh Adolphus Phillips and Eva Aldridge Phillips.

He is survived by his wife Judy Meade Phillips of the home; a step-daughter Melissa Mae Causby of Yadkinville; two step-sons Jack Hunt (Sarah) of Conover and Richard Ray of Claremont; two sisters Joyce Cable of Old Fort and Willie Tarlton of Charlotte; fourteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Lee Adolphus Phillips; a sister Violet Murphy; and a brother Adolphus Junior Phillips.

The funeral will be 3:00 pm Thursday, September 9th, 2021 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Jenkins Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm-2:45 pm Thursday, September 9th, 2021 at Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home.
