Ward Moorman Gilbert 80 of Maiden died Friday, November 27, 2020 at his residence. Born, July 9th, 1940 he was the son of Ward Moorman Mitchell and Mary Elizabeth Gilbert. A US Army veteran, he served two tours in Vietnam. He was a hard worker that loved his family.
Two daughters, Tina Beal and husband Mitch of Lincolnton and Dawn Rikard and husband Collin of Maiden; two sons, Ward Gilbert, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Lincolnton and Eric Gilbert and wife Cassondra of Maiden; a brother, Lee Gilbert of Maiden; a sister, Sheila Haire of Maiden; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren survive him.
Celebration of Life- 2:00pm Saturday December 12, 2020 First United Methodist Church in Maiden with Pastor Rob Hutchinson and Derwin Greeson officiating.
Jenkins Funeral Home staff is not involved in the memorial service at the church.
