Wayne Laney

Wayne Eugene Laney Jr., 83 of Iron Station died Thursday, July 9th, 2015 at Carolina's Continuing Care in Kings Mountain. Born November 22nd, 1931, he was the son of the late Wayne Eugene Laney, Sr. and Grace Elizabeth Laney. An avid animal lover, he loved to help people. He was always there for his family, friends and strangers. A daughter, Sheri Lynn Ratchford and husband Charlie of Spruce Pine, NC; two sons, Michael W. Laney of Iron Station and Mickey Eugene Laney and wife Joanie of Morganton, NC; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews survive him. His wife of 60 years, Nellie Mae Reese Laney preceded him in death. The funeral will be 11:00 am Monday, July 13th, 2015 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Jenkins Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am Monday, July 13th, 2015 at Jenkins Funeral Home.
