Wayne Edward Phillips (Mr. Ed) passed away at his home late Wednesday night, March 14th 2018, surrounded by family and friends. Eddie will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 10 years, Laura, and his children Eddie Jr. (Kayla) Phillips, Heather (Michael) Webb, Hollie (Chris) Marshall, John White, and Jacob (Amber) White. He will also be remembered by his six grandchildren; Marisa Teague, Nevaeh Phillips, Piper Webb, Stevie Webb, Carsen Webb, and Eden Webb; his loving parents Cleatus and Bobbie Smith; his sister Alice (Randy) Mullins, and his brothers Clifford Phillips, Terry (Pam) Phillips, Rodney (Jody) Smith, and David (Lori) Smith, along with multiple nieces and nephews, and many others that he has impacted throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Cameo Teague, his sister in law Debbie Phillips, and his grandson Michael Phillips.
Mr. Ed was a God loving man who wasn't afraid to share the love of Jesus with everyone. If he was not writing or playing music, you could find him with a fishing line in the water or strolling through an antique shop looking for his next project. Eddie was a long time employee of Hancock & Moore and he loved his Hancock & Moore family.
A memorial service will be held to honor Eddie at 5:00 pm on Monday, March 19th at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church in Granite Falls, NC.
The family will receive friends following the service.
