Wilbert Gonzales

Wilbert Gene "Buddy" Gonzales 46 of Statesville died Friday, August 14th, 2015 at his residence. Born May 8th, 1969 he was the son of Gloria Gonzales of Hickory and the late Wilbert Gene Gonzales. He was employed by Interstate Foam for over five years. He was a very Blessed believer, devoted husband, father and papa.

His wife of three years, Suzy Gonzales of the home; six children, Zach Gonzales of the home; Corinne Gonzales of the home, D.J. Lee of Newton, Kyle Lee of Newton, Joey Lee of Newton and Krysten Lee of the home; his mother Gloria Gonzales of Hickory; three sisters, Rose Marie Gladwin and husband Bill of Hickory, Victoria Burley of Morganton and Tammy Kameh and husband Darian of Windermere, FL.; three grandchildren, Kadi Ayachi, Madi Whitener and Aiden Whitener; his paternal grandmother, Caroline Gonzales of Wayland, NY; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and their "Circle of Friends" survive him.

His father, Wilbert Gene Gonzales preceded him in death.

The funeral will be 4:00 pm Monday, August 17th, 2015 at Oxford Baptist Church with Pastor Joel Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Oxford Baptist Church Cemetery with military Rites provided by American Legion Post 48 & The Marine Corps League.

The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:45 pm Monday, August 17th, 2015 at Oxford Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Dave Londree, Brent Cowles,Tony Wilson, Jerry Martin, Jimmy Freeman and Barry Metcalf.
