Willard Marshall Taylor 80 of Hickory passed away Friday, April 12th, 2019. Born August 31st, 1938 he was the son of Wreth Taylor and Madeline Leatherman. A native to the area, he lived his life in Catawba County and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1960.
Willard was a loving father, sibling, and friend to many. He was a Christian known for his generosity, his sense of humor, and his love of music. He was an avid collector with the ability to quickly identify and pass on a bargain. Willard was the patron and the house; when dealt a difficult hand, he was strong, played well, and knew when to cash out. He will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life will be 4:00 pm Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 4:00 pm Tuesday April 16, 2019 at the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church 720 W. 13th St. Newton, NC 28658.
