William Rufus Eakes, 67 of Vale died Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014 at Levine & Dickson Hospice in Huntersville, NC. Born May 2nd, 1947 he was the son of the late Rufus O. Eakes and Della Parker Eakes.
Two daughters, Sheryn Johnson of Wilson and Christina Dubovec of Wilson, a brother, Larry Eakes and wife Annette of Roxboro, NC, two sisters, Mary Rimmer and husband James of Graham, NC and Nancy Durham of Roxboro and two grandchildren, Justin Martin and LaTisha White survive him.
His wife of nearly 30 years, Leanna Morris Eakes preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
