William Lewis McAlister Sr, 71, of Hickory passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 at Carolina Caring Hospice. Born April 13th, 1950 he was the son of the late James Lewis McAlister and Alma Helms McAlister. William was just a simple man who did not require a lot. Most people knew him as Pop or Jimmy Jam. He loved his motorcycles and roller skating in his younger days. William was in the United States Marine Corps from 1969 to 1971. He always gave all that he had with all that he had; he always knew where he stood and what he stood for; and he was always very clear in what he wanted and what he needed. William always said that he had many women but only loved one woman, and that love only comes once in a life time. He was always honored in life and will continue to be honored in death; he will always be loved by his family.
He is survived by his significant other of 43 years Judy Shull; two daughters Tamara Slape (Sam) of Hickory and Ronda Kelly of Hickory; three sons William L. McAlister Jr. of Hickory, Eugene McAlister (Sherry) of Waxhaw, and Wesley Sain of Hickory; a sister Vicki Robinson of Tampa; a brother Danny McAlister of Tampa; eleven grandchildren Timothy Day, Thomas Day, Taylor Day, Brittany Kelly, Carter McAlister, William "Trey" L. McAlister III, Skylar McAlister, Kinley McAlister, Caleb Barwick, Josh Sain, and Andrew Sain; three great-grandchildren Braiden Sain, Ava Sain, Aubrey Sigmon.
