Willie Cleveland Phillips Jr, 70, of Newton, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2018 unexpectedly. He was born on May 14, 1947, to the late Willie Cleveland Phillips and Vivian Arlene Turner Phillips. He was in the United States Army and retired from the United States Army Reserve. He leaves to cherish loving memories one son, Rhyian Phillips and Debra Phillips of Greensboro; daughters, Ingrid Wilfong and Darren Wilfong of Hickory, Sandrea Jones and Garnet Jones of Greensboro, and Adrienne Jordan and Mia Jordan of Fuquay-Varina; three brothers, Pastor Danny R. and Mary P. Phillips of Newton, James M. and Connie G. Phillips of Newton, David Glenn Phillips of Newton; seven sisters, Katie E.J. Phillips Graham of Newton, Vivian L. Springs of Ohio, Elder Gloria J. and Donald Rammer of Newton, Queen Esther Hudsucker of Hickory, Dianna Lynn Lackey of Hickory, Constance E.Phillips of Hickory, Rita M. and Linsay Parson of Taylorsville; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
