Willie Shook

Willie Elizabeth Price Shook, 81 of Hickory died Friday, July 5, 2013 at Trinity Village (Lutheran Home), Springs Road, Hickory. Born September 16, 1931 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Loyd Price and Lola Walker Price. Willie attended St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Hickory. She worked at State Capital Life Insurance for over 15 years and retired after 17 years with Shuford Mills. She also worked for the Furniture Clearance Center for many years after her retirement. In addition to her husband of 49 years, Samuel ?Sam? William Shook; a sister, Juanita Price Brady; and niece, Mary Patricia Coffman preceded her in death. A daughter, Martha Lynne Shook Thompson of Conover; son-in-law, Jerry Rose of Conover; and a nephew, James Gary Ledford and wife Sue of Hickory survive her. A Celebration of Willie?s life will be 4:00 pm Tuesday July 9, 2013 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Birkedal and Rev. Lori Blocker officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-4pm, one hour prior Tuesday July 9, 2013 at the funeral home. Pallbearers include Michael Simmons, Carl Freeman, Wayne Byers, Kenneth Mull and Michael Sigmon.
