Willis Letterman

Willis Lee Letterman, 74 of Newton died Monday, September 26th, 2016 at his residence. Born March 19th, 1942 he was the son of the late Willis Letterman, Sr. and Dorothy Letterman. A US Army veteran he was a truck driver who loved the road. He was a compassionate and forgiving husband, father and grandfather who loved his family. His wife of 29 years Karen Banks Letterman of the home; two daughters, Freida Faye Watts and husband Scott of Hickory and Mary Katherine Millsaps and husband Todd of Statesville; five sons, Gary Dean Letterman of Hickory, George Randolph Letterman of Newton, Donnie Lee Letterman and wife Chasity of Connelly Springs, Brad Allen Letterman of Newton and Randy Wayne Letterman of Kings Mountain; a brother, Jerry Letterman and wife Barbara of Newton; a sister, Linda Letterman of Denver, NC; 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren survive him. Two brothers, Donnie Letterman and Kenneth Letterman and a sister, Brenda Harrelson and two great grandchildren preceded him in death. The funeral will be 2:00 pm Thursday, September 29th, 2016 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Danny Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Jenkins Cemetery graveside with military honors provided by American Legion Post 16. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm Thursday, September 29th, 2016 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Legion Honor Guard 920 N Davis Ave Newton, NC 28658.
