Wilma Eggleston

June 7, 1916 — April 9, 2011

Wilma Frances Cato Eggleston, 94 went home Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Abernethy Laurels. Born June 7, 1916 she was the daughter of the late Robert E. Cato and Margaret Estelle Glover Cato. She was a member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church in Charlotte most of her life and present member of Woodlawn Baptist in Conover. Wilma worked in the school systems of Charlotte and Hickory and retired from C.P.C.C. of Charlotte. Two sons, Stephen Eggleston and wife Paulette of Denver, NC and Larry Eggleston and wife Kay of Claremont; 10 grand-children; 19 great grand-children and one great, great grand-daughter survive her. Her husband of 50 years, Albert Eggleston and a grandson, Scott Eggleston preceded her in death. The funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Ed Yount will officiate. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte. Pastor Stan Heiser will officiate at the graveside service. The family will receive friends 2:00 p.m. at Jenkins Funeral Home on Startown Road. Pallbearers include, Mike Stout, Brian Garhart, Bill Buff, Bob Eggleston, Phillip Retcho and Cole Eggleston. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Woodlawn Baptist Church, 440 7th Street Place, S.W. Conover, NC 28613 or Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church, 1117 South Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.
